This is for my neighbor and I don't think she is getting an error message and the web browser in IE or Internet Explorer which is what most people use?

If you're using the browser then you don't have to worry about it.

Do you have any linked accounts that feed into your Gmail? I have some external accounts that don't have send permission and have to manually change the "From" field to the proper gmail address you're logged in as, otherwise they all come back with return errors.

What exactly happens when you try to send a message?
