Go all out, or save some cash?

I'd wait just a tiny bit longer. I imagine nVidia is going to make a real good push, along with Intel real soon.

Well, I still have 3 months to wait until I can start buying parts/building.
Think that'll be long enough?

i would wait a bit longer too, as nvidia is supposed to come out the with the 9900 series, the 9800 gx2's don't scale too well either, the tri sli version of the 9800gtx's actully beat out the gx2 in most benchmarks

Wait! 9800's aren't as good as they are "supposed to be".

650i? Ugh... the 680i was bad enough.

And SLi is NOT worth it for the 9800 x2...

i personally don't think you should go all out. New products come out every month, and you're going to soon find yourself within a year what seemed to be "top notch" gear is just average. I notice that you're getting Vista; and I personally think it's a waste of money other than for its security in which in turn can really cause problems. I also notice you're wasting a good $300 on your PSU. There's plenty of PSU's out there that have 750 Watts and cost from 100-150. I don't think you should spend another $150 for 250 watts that you might not need at all. Instead, why not use that money on a better/bigger monitor? Your build can definitely handle a bigger monitor.

Watts don't tell you how good the PSU is. It's like saying that a CPU is more powerful because it's got more Mhz... if a PSU is more expensive than another one of the same wattage, it's probably worth it (Reliability, stability...)

Agreed. Wattage only shows half of the PSU's potential. Amperage shows the other half. Even if wattage doesn't tell how good a PSU is, you still need it.

Don't go with crappy brands like POWMAX, POWORK, Apevia, ect...
