Going from Vista to XP....First time.

Hey everyone, i got a question I was looking through my old cd's and saw my old XP Pro installer cd, with the serial number and everything.

I was always told XP is better then Vista, i bought my laptop with Vista already
i was curious to what will happen if i try to install XP will everything else still work, like my webcam and so on.

Lasty is there anything else i should know, also i have alot of songs and other files id like to save can i save them from getting deleted when i make the switch.
 
uhm well the only way to save your files would be to put them on a disk or jumpdrive something that will hold alot of memory. Really I dont think you should switch vista has gotten better since its release and should be fine by now dont downgrade.

Going from vista to xp might make that webcam not work because it wont have the driver for it any more

Your usb plug in hardware should work fine but the drivers for graphics or sound or other Mobo/chipset drivers may not be available in XP

Back up anything you want to keep onto another hard drive, dvd/cd disk, flash drive etc or else you will lose it.

Which make/model laptop is it? google and find out if the drivers are available for the model you have.

My Vista has been nothing but trouble from day 1. I despise it.

You can always get the driver for it afterwards..
I recommend that you save all your drivers to and external hard drive before you install windows xp.

why don't you partition the hard drive and install xp and see if everything work, that way you know if xp recognized all the drivers include your webcam. If it work than you can deleted vista. Makesure you have a recovery disc for the vista.
