I personally suggest Athlon IIx 4 635.
Also, probably worth to get a video card for slight gaming. May be $60 4670 GDDR3 1GB

yeah I was looking at XFX ATI HD5750 for Vid card. Do you think it'll be a decent system with this? It's my first foray into PC building, done minimal research, just thought I'd have a go. Depending on other responses I'll go with a quad core cpu AMD Phenom II X4. With the CPU and Vid card bumbs me up to $884. Is this the best I can do for this price?
