I'm trying to build a medium to high performing gaming rig and I need a good, but cheap mobo for it so I can keep the final price below $1200
I need the mobo to support...
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz (1066 mhz bus)
2 gigs of some ddr2 800 (pc2 6400) memory and...
suppport for a high end PCI Express x16 NVidia video card such as GeForce 8800GTS

please help me out

hey im not a specialist in this but i found a few that are compatible... these are them... as far as quality goes you will prob. have to wait till someone else comes arround...

i dont know how you can fit an e6600 and an 8800gts in there for 1200. my suggestion is to wait until early may to build

no, actually I already have a case and a video card (the 7600 Gt over clocked), but I was thinking of getting a better one. I also have a monitor which is actually a wide screen hdtv 1280-768 or something in that manner. would you recommend any other motherboards?

i was just checking about the memory to see if you already had that... so far Newegg is the best ive seen... hold on let me find some others...

early may because of a load of intel price cuts and new C2D models and many more options. itll be fun in early may, best time to build in a long time IMO

anyway go with the P965 DS3 or S3

alrite I guess I will wait then, are there any parts you think I should buy now that will not go down in price, like the processor or possibly a different monitor or sometihng

as far as i know, almost everything is going on sale... if you really cant wait read a book because you will save yourself a bunch of money!!

yeah, i am picking out the bad ones you suggested. never suggest a G9xx chipset, unless he never ever wants to OC

yea how big is this sale going to be, are there more quad cores going to be available because I heard there are going to be games coming out which are made to use a quad core to the max
