Good Budget Board?

Well, i have an APG Video card, and at one point in the future i may upgrade when i get more cash, so yeah it is!

I saw a review of an ASRock earlier today and it was much slower than similar boards. Now, just because one board is bad or slow doesn't mean they all are, but being a budget board, I suspect it to be...

Eh, specs wise it's not bad. I don't care for ULi chipsets, but they could be just fine... The ethernet seems to only be 10/100(not 10/100/1000 like most) but that shouldn't really matter.

Hmm, it's a very intersting board. I'm going to do some research on it real quick. It's perked my intrest.

*edit*
Future port? Intersting...
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2524 < review on the board...still reading. I probably won't edit anymore, just read it yourself :P

In my experience, the ASRock boards are no where near the quality and performance of the Asus baords (Even though ASRock is made by Asus)

There's a few "gotchas" you need to be aware of. 1) Multiple memory sticks must be exactly the same kind. This means if you later decide to upgrade the memory and can't find the old kind you will be spending lots of $; 2) On-board sound has been reported to be noisy 3) ASRock's market niche is in low cost systems. You'd probably do much better paying and extra $25 and sticking to ASUS, Abit or Giga-byte. I see the attractiveness of having both SGP and PCI-E slots, but the negatives for this particular board seem to be more important. You might end up spending a big $ amount for memory in the future unless you buy it all now. IMHO, this board is a gimmick that no other manufacturer is duplicating.

That board actually got good reviews, but I do agree...go with a higher end board if at all possible.

Pretty nice though...it's ready for AGP or PCIe and possibly the new AM2 ;)

The thing is im already, reaching the outer limit of my budget, and i cannot find many boards with APG, if you can maybe help me find a better board thats around same price that would be nice, but yes i ddi research the board and was pretty fast for budget, and got good reviews!
