good buy??

Seagate drives are very good, and yes with the promo code, it is a good deal. It won't perform as well as a Samsung F3/F4 or WD Caviar Blue/Black, however Samsung don't do a 750GB HDD, only 500 and 1TB, both of which would work out more expensive, and the WD drives are more expensive also, so for the amount of storage that you get for the price, you aren't going to be finding any better

when you say it won't perform as well, is that minimal?
 
i received the HDD today... I guess it did not come with the cables. WIll the sata connector from the power supply be all I need and will the other connector be with the motherboard? Or do I have to buy something?

Right, all you should need is the SATA power coming from your power supply and then a separate SATA cable that you would connect to your motherboard.
 
Nice MB...the picture shows the two SATA cables you will need. You didn't mention your DVD drive which will also use a SATA...BTW you can buy quality SATA cables for way less than $10...check out www.monoprice.com for cables. Yes they are quality. PC world and Home Theater recently did a review on their cables and found them to be on par with the Monster stuff.
