Good card to get?

assuming you have a slot for it, you will blow away any integrated graphics. I would also consider a 6800gs or an x800gto/gto2

I would definitely look into the (new) Geforce 7600GT card that just came out a couple days ago. If you truly have $200 usd to spend, this one is roughly $190-$200 for some versions. It is between the Geforce 6800GS and Geforce 7800GT performance wise. Supposedly slated to take over the 6600GT as Nvidia's prime midrange performer. IMO one of if not the best "bang for your buck" video cards out there period.

And yeah, anything you end up getting for more than probably $60 will completely destroy your integrated graphics. Unless of course, you buy it off some NYC hobo selling $5 watches.

Thanks guys Ill look into the 7600GT but I am not sure about Nvidia, Ive been a ATi Radeon person ever since I got into computers.

I like ATI better as well, that x1600XT is an excellent card for the price, but i would look into the 7600GT since it would be better.

Find 50$ more and get X1800GTO 250$ as it´s build on same chip as X1800XL and you can flash with X1800XL's BIOS...

Yeah, and if he could scrounge $300 more he could look into the Geforce 7900GTX. My point being, the guy gave a budget for a reason, if he could spend $50 more, he would have said "anything under $250."

I swear we should just a have forum category named "Random Video Card Recommendations." That way all of you who love to throw out names of cards that are over people's listed budgets can go throw a party.

^haha. thanks for keeping it real...
i would say go with the 7600. but the 1600 is a good bet, too. either way, you'll be happy.
