I also don't have a Paypal Account so I can't go onto Ebay and find it Cheap:)

Personally, I've never purchased an external hard drive. Typically, I have a leftover drive from an upgrade so I buy an enclosure and stick the drive in it. Do you have any drives laying around not being used? If so, you could purchase an enclosure for it, save a little money and put an unused drive to good use.

As far as buying an external, I have no preference for one brand over the another. Does your computer support eSata? If so, an external that supports eSata will give you a nice performance boost over USB (unless your computer supports USB 3.0 and you buy a USB 3.0 enabled external drive).

OfficeMax is not known for having particularly good prices as they tend to cater to businesses. You might try looking at newegg.com or amazon.com.

Here's a link to external drives over 1TB at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007601%20600030763&IsNodeId=1&name=1TB%20and%20higher

Thanks!!! this helps a lot :)

But I don't have any leftover drives laying anywhere so i'll have to buy a external one.

I just wanted some extra Capacity to have to store everythings, ( internal or external doesn't matter ) thank you though.

If you feel like going to your local best buy on black friday they'll have a 750gb portable for 60, not too bad. Considering most people will be there for the tv you could probably stroll in and get one if you get up at like midnight and get there at 1 or so, seems early but I doubt you would have to camp out for it.

It depends on what you are planning to do with it. Do you want to be able to carry it with you and use it at a moments notice? Or will this be a drive to plug in and leave sitting at home for long term storage of things like images, music, videos, backups, etc...? How much do you want to spend and do you want to buy it online or do you prefer a physical store? Are you in the military/contract employee/other and going to be carrying this drive into harsh/hostile/war areas?

Most of us here could write a book on hard drives that would rival War and Peace in length. Details on what you want are good! :D

Edit: What country do you live in?
