Good deal?

i would have said it was an ok deal if it wasnt refurbished!

thats like a posh word for "secondhand" lol....

its not a bad pc but i would still build your own-you could build a cracking system for 1000usd and it would be brand new!!

ok thanks, I keep trying to take the easy way out, but I guess I'll just suck it up...I know it isn't that hard. And I didn't think refubished was that bad.

well refurbished is someone else returning it because of a fault etc but how long the customer has had it for is a different matter!!

the motherboard and psu would prob be crap in it aswell so if you wanted to upgrade your ram you prob wont be able to go higher than DDR2 667mhz and if you wanted to buy another 8800gt and sli them your board only has 1 pci-e x16 slot not to mention you only have a 400watt psu (prob cheap no name brand)!!

Well refurbished IMO is better, in some cases. When they initially build the computer they don't completely test it, sure they turn it on and load the OS and programs, but they don't REALLY test the computer. When a refurbished system is re-certified to hit the market again, it has been thoroughly tested and certified.

Not all systems are owned by customer's and returned due to faults. Some are systems sent to third party retailers that didn't get sold, since they left the factory and "hit" the market yet were unopened, they were deemed refurbished.

Overall though man, skip it. Build your own, I know it's probably not the input you wanted to hear, but building one is an awesome experience and with our help you can build a computer that'll last and that will be upgradeable for some time.

ok thanks for all the advice. As soon as I finish paying off my TV and couch I'm going to drop a list of parts here and make sure they are all good, then I'll let you know how the build works. Thanks again.
