good or not?

im a computer novice and just need some help deciding whether this system is good or not:

Performance PC. Intel® Core® 2 Duo. (6600 (2.4GHz, 4MB, 1066FSB) , Standard Case , 19 " LG L1919S 8ms , EN8600GT Silent/HTDP/256M , 250GB Sata 2 Hard Drive , 2048 DDR 2 800 MHz , Vista Premium 64 Bit & Disc , 1 X Sony Sata 18 X DVDRW DL , No Wireless Network Card )

it will cost 660, and im buying it from http://www.pcoption.co.uk/pcpackages/index43.htm

what you guys think?

I would suggest going up on the video card. A 7900 can easily beat that or go straight up to a 8800gts. But everything else looks fine

the 8800gtx is very expensive, the GTS is about £50 more? it depends how much gaming you'll be doing, you can always upgrade it yourself later.

hello fella, absolutely superb username by the way :D

The system looks fine to be honest, is £660 around your budget?

Changing graphics cards is pretty simple but i don't think your going to need to if your not a heavy gamer. I play games from time to time and have tried some of the newer games without issue, my system being far inferior to the one you've posted up :)

lol ynwa ;)

well, 660 is probably over the budget but i want to buy a system which will last for a good few years. do you think its good value for money? im not really sure...

Buying a computer that is built by another company is always more expensive than if you built it yourself. That will definitely last a long time, but I would recommend getting a 32-bit operating system, rather than 64-bit, as 64-bit has poor driver support when compared to 32-bit.

I think it is over priced as i have put together a future build on ebuyer that kicks that pc for under £600 - do it yourself its fun

lol unfortunately i dont think theres any chance of me building it myself. way too much hassle for someone that doesnt even know if his own computer is decent :P

i just want to know if this price is good compared to the high street shps
