I was looking into buying the "MSI K8NNeo4 Platinum SLI Socket 939 ATX Motherboard" for my new comp (mostly because its pretty good at overclocking) but i came accross the "Asus A8N SLI Deluxe nVidia Socket 939 Motherboard"

is this a good overclocking board aswell?

They both are good, but the Neo Platinum series gets a lot of credit for being one of the most flexible OCing boards.

both are good boards but the asus is not recromended for overclocking

the best board for overclocking is the dfi lanparty(whatever their 939s sli is)
then the msi
then the asus

Asus MOBO's are one of the choice overclockers used thats why its one of the top MOBO makers, i myself use ASUS MOBO and i dont see any problem with it, I think any MOBO for that matter would be unstable if OC. :)

i know that asus can overclock very good, im an asus fanboy but their a8n-sli has had alot of problems overclocking, and from testing, the other 2 boards can overclock better

Other than OCing, how are the DFI's in terms of features and quality? I've read that the quality isn't too great on a lot of DFI boards...

Actually ... if I recall the P4[C/P]800 was quite the overclocking series

its not as stable as the others when overclocking, also the other boards can overclock higher and stabiler
Hmmm well lets see ... as much as I hate THG, its appropriate here ... article ... "The Iceman Cometh" ... 5Ghz .... N2(l) .... ASUS board.....

For OCing, ASUS tends to favor intel setups more though :)

Yes but you should also know just because one board doesnt OC well doesnt mean none of them do .. that would just be plain silly

Its actually pretty solid all around (the ex-lead designer from Abit now works on the Lanparty stuff too) ... native suport for "extended voltages" is nice too
