Good PDA for external display?

After seeing the following in a MaximumPC magazine, I was wondering, what's a PDA that I can get for cheap now (most likely off of eBay) that has a large color screen?

I'd like to use one to show walkthroughs for certain games (where I try to find all secrets) and other stuff, but I'm not sure which PDA would be the best. So far, I've seen a Dell Axim X3 for about $50 in working condition, but is there something better for the price?

You could get a 17in CRT for that price, or even cheaper, and achieve the same thing.

Well, of course I could get a 17 inch CRT for that price, but think of the horrendous amount of space it would take up. I already have a 19" Widescreen LCD, which takes up a little space already, and I'd like to add a PDA with a 3.5" or so screen near one of the bottom corners (so that I can see stuff like walkthroughs on my computer while I'm playing on my 360 on the same monitor), and that's why I'm asking if there's any other PDA around $50-$75.

I can easily read size 5 font (Courier New) on paper without squinting or anything (I'm really near-sighted), so I don't think that would be a problem. The biggest reason I'd like to get it is to save paper and ink (and time by editing the content to lower page count) from printing; I have a stack about a foot high of walkthroughs and cheats for games I haven't played in ages (but apparently still plan to play eventually), not to mention another equal-height stack I just threw away.

And like I said earlier, a LCD wouldn't work because unless I could find a cheap 5" LCD with VGA inputs, it would be too big.
