good proccesor?

i first was surprised to see people offering the single core cpus in the biggining, but i am glad you are getting x2 3800 or some dual core cpu...

its deffinnately worth getting a dual core at this momment

if u wish to play older-new games then i would get either:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2000MHz HT Socket 939 E3 Processor - $203
or if u can give up a lil xtra money
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor - $235

if you wish to play newer (Call Of Duty 2, Quake 4, and Oblivion) -games that will come out in the future then i would get either:
Intel Pentium D 930 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core Processor - $213
or if u can give up a lil xtra money
Intel Pentium D 940 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core, EM64T Processor - $256

if you were to go Intel, i would go with the 930, not 940. You can easily overclock the 930 to the speeds of a 940. Or better yet, just get a 920 and oc it.

With what you're doing, there is no question. A dual core processor would help you a ton with everything you're doing. I'd go with the 9xx series of processors if you can't pay more than $225, or you could go with the X2 3800+ if you have around $300

I havent seen alot of computers with duel cores, what I play alot right now is BF2, Why do I need a duel core over say a a64 3700?

cause some games now and many games in the future will utilize both cores.

I cant drop like 500 bucks on a amd duel core
as i said before, the AMD X2 (Dual-Core) 3800+ is only $297, thats about $60 more than an A64 3700+.
