I have a amd 6400 x2, ansus sli delux mobo, sli evga 8800 gt. hsf is tt gunmet orb, 4gb ram,.................
wondering what is good range to be in. ideling around 40c, when gaming get up to arround 60c... what is a good range, when should i be concered? and if concerned what can i do to drop temps-------------- also all case fans are hooked up directly to psu, is that ok, should them be hooked up to mobo?????? thanks for all your guys help---------------

seems ok, little warmer than mine, mines only an x2 4000+ (its at 2333mhz currently though, a 233mhz oc) and thats generally like 39c, and gaming is like 58c, so i think it's ok, and the fans dont make a difference where there in, unless they or the mobo supports like fan speed adjustments, which will allow you to in/decrease rpms

I read somewhere that x2s shouldn't get above 60 celcious. I have a 6000+ amd x2 at 3.0 ghz (it is one lvl below yours) and it idles around 39 celcious and when on load it goes up to 45-50 celcious. It is a bit warmer then it should be but u should probably reapply the thermal compound .

i have Q6600 and when gaming get up to around 43c, and thats because the water-cooling system i have, before that it was like 58c! what kind of cooling system do you use?

try to clean the cpu's fan and not only, from dust. This is what many times cost problems like increasing temperature.

Ah AMD...

Buy some Arctic Silver 5 or MX-2, clean out your fan. Turn off Cool n' Quiet or SMART Fan.

here is where we are at

turned off cool and quiet, rotated floor fan to draw air in, rotated ceiling fan to push air out, heat sink is clean,,,,, just installed less than 1.5 week ago. will reapply thermal paste----- do much diffrence--- i just bought artic silver 5, from newegg--- how much do i apply, from what i understand and have read about,,, not much just enough to coat the processor===== correct???????// let me know, again thanks guy for the help ---- would be lost with out the input, and out of a computer eventually
