Good setup... or not

The Video Card isn't really that good, go with a 6600 or 6800 if you have the money, or with an x600 and above if you don't have a lot of funds. For 122 you could probably find a better motherboard, one by DFI (Lanparty), Asus, or MSI (Neo Platinum), would be nice.

can you give me a link to a good mobo? i think this one is good, cuz of the pcie, SATA, lotsa USB ports and lotsa ram slots, onboard sound, and RAID.

thats almost the same, except more PCI x16 slots, which i dont really need as i dont intend to do much gaming, the FSB is slower, and i dont think it has built in ethernet.

I dont see anything wrong with your orginal motherboard. I personally would of went with the MSI neo4 plantium.

First of all amd does not use FSB. Secound it can operate at 1000HT like ALL skt 939 motherboards. It has 2 built in ethernets. The DFI is a excelent board. Most people would proberly consider it better then the gigibyte one. Again my personal favortite skt 939 board is the MSI neo4 plantium. Even thoe you could make a fight that the DFI board is the best.

Anandstech named the DFI I posted as the co-champ 939 board in terms of performance, features and OCing. That's why I suggested it for you, and I've had no problems with it.

Hehe you dont even know what the system is used for yet? ;) (which begs an implicit question)

This is a nice one too

Both the DFI board mentioned and the board i suggested (1) are hands down superior (2) have the same "FSB" as your GB board (which, for the record is 200Mhz) ... and technically none of them have a FSB since AMD64 uses HTT instead

First of all amd does not use FSB.
Well their K7 boards did :P But you are right in that their K8 boards did no

I recall the DFI board being the solitary champ. In either case, even if its not the solitary champ -- it should be. The MSI board doesnt allow the same insane memory tweakage

i also forgot to mention that i am new at putting comps together... this will be my first time, and i looked at some reviews for the DFI board and a lot said that this isn't for a first timer, and that it's pretty hard to put together. in addition, i dont really see how those boards are better than the one i had, the only thing that kinda jumps out is the PATA raid, which i dont really need, i dont think. (what does it do?)

Granted the DFI has a bit more on the featureside (and thus more complication), if you are wary ... consider the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum ... another kickass board :)

(PATA RAID is a type of RAID, most likely supporting RAID0, RAID1 and RAID0+1 for PATA or old-school IDE drives).

RAID 101
HDD 101.

oh, yeah thats prabally what hes talking about. I ussaly just touch the back of the PC everyonce and a while to discharge myself.
