Good Socket AM2 cooler for Athlon 6000+

I'm looking for a good Am2 cooler that will be able to sufficiently cool an Athlon 6000+ with AC5 to around 30 - 35C idle.;) (if possible)
With the standard heatsink i get around 37C idle and 46C/47C load with the side off my case. I would like something a little lower than that, but with the side of my case on. I'm looking to spend a maximum of about £20.
Then i can give my brother my cooler for his Athlon 4600+.;)

get a zalman. man, 20 bucks wont do any good to you to get a good looking girl. you need more money to get a descent hair cut!

Who said anything about 20 Bucks? You may have been close if you said 40 Bucks, because i'm sure that's not far off what £20 (ENGLISH MONEY) equates too.
Please read before you comment.

To clarify that a little more 20 pounds is about $40+ US on the exchange rate. The CNPS 9700 is Socket AM2 capatible and will go on the exact same model cpu here later this month. Some are going with the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro as the less costly item to consider. Both brands put out great coolers to look over.

The Zalman is a far better still model while seeing adequate intake and exhaust in the case itself will go alot further in seeing lower temps overall. The newer boards with the 12v cpu and wider power distribution actually run warmer then the older P4 and Socket A models. Keep the board temps down to see the cpu temps down as well.

The Zalman sounds good PC eye, thanks. I'll take a look, because if it can lower my system temp as well then that would be a major bonus.;)

I'm sure he did read but was just confused. We've all done it before, this is a multi-regional forum, it's to be expected. Let's not get our knickers in a twist. :D

The Zalman models just like the Artic Cooling models have copper bases. The AC line sees the large copper heat tubes while the higher priced Zalman models use large copper fins. In addition to going for a good cooler by either make there having the good air flow seen in the case already will surprise you more at seeing lower temps.

Someone pointed out a sale at FRYs on the Antec Nine Hundred case and I jumped on it to replace the AeroCool AreoEngine 2 model seeing a single 140mm front intake. The Antec has a pair of 120s in the front that can be replaced at a local retail in case one goes. The 140mm is custom for that brand. A 120 wouldn't see the plastic 140 turbine style finned wheel spin probably.

The real key to success with a good cpu cooler thrown in is seeing cooler air replace the heated air overall. Simply changing cases here for the large fans actually saw the cpu temp drop from 44C idle down to 33C! When the board was cooler so was the cpu despite the 9500 already being on. These are the two things to look at.

omg. haha. this was what i was saying. he said he doesnt want to get 30 british pound cooler, but wants 20 british pound cooler. that is 10 pound difference. so which is about 20 dollars. Sorry for the vague comment.

Thanks mate for that.;) Looks like a new case could be on the books as well, your not half costing me some money.:D

Lately with the warm weather and air conditioning those large sertainly made a bigger difference seeing a low 28C cpu temp after the system ran all day and into the night even gaming for several hours then. You don't always expect the exact same temps on different days but that was a surprise there for the year old build. I'm just waiting now to see what the new case will see for temps? :P
