Good Video Card For Gaming

Can you recommend a good video card for gaming? I've already chosen one, but before I tell you, I want opinions I already know for sure that I will be playing Battlefield 2, The Sims 2, America's Army 3, and possibly The Sims 3.

A HD3870 / 9800GT is enough to play those games on high with excellent FPS. But if you really want to max them out and possibly have room for other more graphic intensive games, get a GTS250

I heard a rumor somewhere a GTS 250 was just an over-clocked 9800GT, is that just a rumor or is that actually true?

GTS 250 is basically 9800gtx+ but it is shorter and needs just 1 pci-e connector.

And: is it worth the extra $10-15 to get a 1gb video card? If I do get a 1gb video card, what advantages does it have over the 512mb video card.

The more VRAM, the better FPS you will get in higher resolutions, in other words, larger monitors. (22"+)

A 9800GT is better than a 3870 by a decent margin, a 4850 would be around the same price point and comparable to a 9800GTX/GTS 250

Minds well the 1GB is only $10 more why not the only reason I got the 512MB is because it was on sale for $99 with free shipping.

Your link is broke and a 4870 would require a bigger power supply so it would be more then $30 extra.
