good way to clean screen?

what is a good way to clean my screen for my laptop? it is dirty and bugging me.

I always used water and paper towels. Works fine for me.

i was just cleaning my glasses, and got an idea. would the glasses cleaner work? it has a few chemicals in it, but would it harm the screen?

Making it more complicated doesn't always make it easier.

Stick with water and a rag.

Also, "Don't use tap water or mineral water as they could leave white marks on the screen because of the dissolved salts."



Here is how to cause no harm to the screen.

To prepare the solution for cleaning LCD monitors, you will need deionized or distilled water and vinegar or iso-propyl alcohol.
Dilute the vinegar or IPA with distilled water [1:1] and spray this liquid on the cloth. Never ever spray liquid directly onto the LCD screen. Moisten the cloth with this home made LCD cleaner and gently move the wet cloth in just one direction - from top to bottom.

yeah.. i always used isoprohyl alcohol and one of those glasses cleaner cloths that came with my tv

Even if it does take longer, it would be better than having a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. It would save hundreds of dollars in repair, or for a new screen.

Use a LITTLE bit of water, and a soft proven cloth.

Easiest thing to do: Buy monitor wipes.

for me i use windex on a microfiber cloth. then i flip over that cloth to dry it up. never spray windex directly on the lcd as it will drip down

I use lens cloths, same solution used in glass lens cleaner (I use them on my glasses too) and actually it works great!. No scratched or anything on my screen adn I've been cleaning it that way for over a year. A few lens cloths and a can of air are all I use to clean my laptop.

me too - i used a safety glasses lens cleaning kit at my old work, and i worked wonderfully. the grime came off my screen, and the white cleaning cloth had all kinds of dirt on it from the screen.
