Please uninstall the following programs via add/remove programs.

Adobe Reader 7.0
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
Java(TM) 6 Update 13
Viewpoint Media Player

Then go here to download the latest versions of Adobe Reader and Java.

Make sure you uncheck the option to install mcafee security scan plus.

You have a lot of ports open through the firewall. I would check the exceptions tab under windows firewall and make sure they are all valid
 
Hi, i have looked under the firewall settings and there is loads of ports, should i delete some?

dont understand what they do?

will delete those programs and install up to date new one.

Go through the list to determine if a program actually needs access to the internet.

However, it may be in your best interest to do a fresh install on the machine providing you have a way to do that.
 
You don't understand which statement I made?

First statement - Look through the applications and see if any actually need access to the internet to function correctly. I'm just worried that there are ports that are open that shouldn't be.

Second statement - If I was taking over a machine from someone else that i wasn't sure was clean from infections or not sure what system maintenance was done on it, not knowing what ports they have allowed internet to access to, I would have to do a format and reinstall windows so i know exactly whats going on with my system. You woujld either need reinstallation cd's or use the recovery partition if it has one.

i have a lot of ports on the list but how can i tell what they are for? or if they need access/open?

have lots of documents scattered all over it that i need which is why i dont want to wipe and start fresh
