What has led you to believe it's a hoax?

Personally I think it's a very logical next step when you combine the likes of Google Video with the Google Book Search which has scanned and indexed the library of books it has.

I wouldn't know about getting involved with beta testing though. This video may be helpful, but I haven't tried it.

yes, accourse... that video is where i first seen the google tv. tried it... over 10 times... never worked.
 
Okay, well I've watched the video, and i can say with 99% certainty, that Google TV most likely isn't fake, but that way to access it definately is. I wouldn't waste your time trying to continuously log in and out - you'll be doing it for a while, especially since Google apparently uses a "random number generator" to determine how many times you have to do it. That's quite funny.

All good exposure for Google though, and with so many people purporting to have suceeded after "20 - 30 times" this hoax has not surprisingly split the web.
