Antivirus 2010 security centre looks alot like a legitimate antivirus and it wants to run a system scan.. of course on the message preceding it telling you to "imedeately" (spelled wrong) to run a system scan was one give a way... but anyhow I looked it up and it was suggested to download malwarebytes and rename it.. well i got it started but the program lists itself as it is anyway once it's loaded and it got caught and this virus shuts down anything that might get rid of it apparently... well now i am having trouble getting the computer to load!... any suggestions... i'm trying to reboot in safe mode but it just seems to take forever and im not sure if its going to happen..

I need some help fast.. it's my brothers computer and he needs it up and running asap.. not sure what he did to get this nasty thing..

thanks in advance!

note... having trouble booting up period... any suggestions..

ok.. so i think i screwed up...

i was trying to get this done.. I have heard about a repair install.. I either should have waited to hear back from you all... or i have heard of a repair install i should have tried that.. i forgot about that at the time.. so my brother had included a recovery console cd.. i tried this.. apparently its only disc one.. if we can't locate the addtional disc.. is there anything that can be done.. im kind of at an impass now.. any suggestions..

You've created a mess now. You'll either have to find the second cd or buy a copy of windows and install it fresh.

ha,, yeah i know isn't that something.. but i have the disks now.. however its shutting down during the process.. could this be due to the virus? what can be done...

If the computer is shutting down then its most likely overheating. As long as you are booting to the recovery cd's then the virus can't do anything because you aren't inside windows.
