Got C Programming Exp?

Just basically what I want you guys that do know some C is to leave your mark in this thread, just so I know who can help me. I am gonna start trying to learn C, it seems that I can't get a good grip in Visual Basic no matter what I try. And could you give me some pointers?

EDIT: I just figured out that x64 Vista won't run the unzip .exe for DJGPP, and I am left without the gcc compiler :( I might just try to run it in Ubuntu or Backtrack...
