Hello Again. Im going to list my setup, i just need help choosing a Mobo and RAM, i also narrowed it down to 2x each, but im not to sure if its compatible so feel free to branch off from what im giving you to choose from.

here are the sites you can use since im from Canada.

TigerDirect
Canada Computers

CPU - Anthlon 64 X2 4200+
HDD - Western Digital 250GB 16MB SATA-II
VCard - eVGA GeForce 7900 GT CO 256MB GDDR3
PSU - Antec TruePower 2.0 TPII - 480 Blue PSU w/ ATX 12V 2.01 480WATT
Case - Aspire X-Discovery ATX

Now the RAM either this : Corsair DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz 1GB(2x512MB) or Corsair Value Select PC3200 DDR400 Kit 2x512MB 184-pin DIMM
Motherboard - Asus A8R-MVP OR Asus A8N-SLi

im not to sure if these are compatible with what im getting , im confused between SLi and crossfire i dont know much , and as for the RAM i see alot of people getting the pc3200 but for a little more they can get the pc4200 which is faster is it not, but then again i dont know much. Thx for the Help guys.

no no no the ram cant be ddr2

amd motherboards dont support dd2 and the motherboard i would go for the a8n

Yes, that's true. DDR2 support is expected to be available for the AM2 processors.

It's not just that they dont have support for it, the motherboard also wont even accept DDR2. Since DDR2 is 240-Pin, and DDR is 184-pin.

i used the computer 101 thing and it says use the A8R MVP with yes the pc3200 RAM , so whats your suggestion, and are the other parts good that ive chosen ??

then again i dont want to surpass 1500-1800 CAD $

im talking AMD X2 , if you read my first post you will see what i am getting and what is my question i dont know what your talking about am2 sorry.

i just need help on choosing what mobo and RAM and why you chose that one cause im not to familiar with computer parts.

They mean, any current motherboards don't support DDR2, and only the future amd processors called AM2 will be able to support it.

Oh ok, thank you. Anyways, what are your inputs on my questions. Well as for the RAM i have to go the 1GB 2x512MB PC3200 DDR400 route , and as for the Motherboard what would be best for the setup I've put together?
