Haha so I can just say that it was theres? lol.
Also can they tell if you OC?
Hi all. Got my chip today so now I have all the parts for my new build lol.
One thing though, I was reading the warranty... and it says its void unless I use the crappy little stock HSF... I have a Cooler Master V8 to go on it????
That sucks.
I'm jealous of your having the 955 .
I'm teetering between a 955 AM3 ( w/ 3300 on board Video Card ) and 940 build on AM2+ Platform ( with mid - low end Video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) for about $70.00 less. I still don't know which one I'm gonna choose. My Newegg Shopping cart is set with the 940 setup and I can't pull the trigger yet. It's driving me a little nuts... lol
Somebody give me an argument to push me one way or the other for my first build. So far I'm stuck on the fact that reviews showed pretty similar performance on the 940 vs 955 - even with DDR3 upgrade. Add the $roughly 70. savings and it's tempting to hold back on MOBO socket vs going new
Only final decision on a part I have possession of is the 650W Corsair PSU.
If you want to play games (especially anything even remotely recent), it's a no brainer that you should get a real video card. Onboard is trash for games...even the best, like the 3300, is barely on par with a low/mid-range "real" card from 2006.
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking that to be the case - but wasn't sure how the 3300 would keep up for gaming - as it was rated pretty highly for HD video playback from what I read online. Do you know if the same is true for reverse - will a mid range video card like the one posted earlier ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161252 ) - also do as good as the 3300 on HD video playback? I'd like to be able to watch a DVD while using PC for computer functions.
My primary interest for a Video card is dual screen - so I'd be upgrading to external video sooner or later anyway. If I had a decent card - I might purchase a game and see if I like it - but never had a capable machine - so it's not been something I've done or really planned as a motivator to upgrade.
