Gparted only reads one of my hard drives.

When trying to format my hard drives using gparted on my Linux distro Sabayon 4 it only shows one of my hard drives, there both the same exact drive. Why is it not picking up the other one. It let me fully format the one hard drive and I'm about to install Sabayon 4 but I would like to be able to use the other hard drive so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are the drives setup as part of a raid array? In what format are the drives formatted?

There is no raid and I can't format it because gparted doesn't read it. One is formated in the ext3 (or what ever its called) the other is not partition or formated at all because it doesn't pick it up.
