Hey all, this is my first post here on the forums, been looking all over the place for good GPU card to run a video game i like to play called "theHunter"

ive been told that my extra ram, and CPU are perfectly fine to run higher settings on this game, but appearantly my GPU is lacking

i just want a good GPU that can run this game in higher settings... preferably cheap (ofcaurse) because i just dont know where to start and waht all the numbers and stuff mean.

Specs: (DO NOT LAUGH!)

dell inspiron 531
CPU: AMD athelon 64 x2 dual core 4000+ 2.1 GhZ
RAM: 4GB
TYPE: 32-bit
GPU: ATI radeon HD 2400 pro

thanks all in advance :D

You will need to buy a new power supply which is of higher quality and wattage before you buy a new graphics card. I have a friend with a very similar system, so I know that a normal ATX PSU will fit.

A budget would really help to find an ideal card, but don't spend a lot because the rest of the system will be a bottleneck (likely) on anything more powerful than a Radeon R7 250 or maybe an R7 260 (which are entry-level graphics cards).

I've had a look at the system requirements and it calls for a GeForce 7600 which came out about 7 or 8 years ago, so an R7 250 or even an R7 240 will be plenty. Grab a Corsair CX430M power supply to go with it and you should be good to go.

this sounds good, thanks for the suggestions ;) this will run games at atleast medium quality with NO lag? if so, i will be happy :)

Depends which games you want to play and the resolution you want to play them at. The R7 250 is an entry-level card, so don't expect miracles in terms of performance when playing newer and more demanding games, but it should play 'theHunter' fine.

Thanks.... Aslong as I can get rid if the minor lag and some better graphics I'll be happy :good:
