so ive been doing research about computers and stuff and i didnt know there's so many kinds of the same graphics card. im looking to buy a gtx 560 ti one day from newegg. reading the reviews they all have positive things but they all also have something like "fans 'died' after 2 weeks" and stuff about "articles" blah blah. i dont play graphically intense games so i dont need a really fancy one. just a reliable one. tell me about the different brands and their reputation too.

EVGA is probably the most well known and reputable. MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte are also really good. I think PNY are decent but don't know too much about them.

560ti is a good choice, but i would recomend getting a 2gb version for more future proofing. Also, with the release of the GTX680, prices are great for the next 3 higher cards, so if you can spend the bit extra, a 560ti-480core or 570 would be great.

Tell us what kind of games you play and ill suggest something, as for the differant cards, it exactly the same, just differant manufacturers so the cooling scheme is changed

Every card has at least one case of the fans not working or its DOA. Some have more cases, others have less. Just a chance you have to take.

unpopular f2p games :) not too graphically intense. War of the Immortals, Alliance of Valiant Arms, maybe Continent of the Ninth in the future

yeah, i would save the money and get like a 5770-6870, not a huge drop in performance and still plenty to max those out, unless you plan on getting like BF3 sometime that is.

Ok, if you just want to stabalize framerates, not go for absolute crazy performance throw down 60~70$ for the GTX 430, thats a good basic card for the price.

well here's my newegg wishlist. will that power supply be good enough? tell me any changes you would make, i just simply want something reliable. price doesnt really matter i guess. i'll be moving in a few weeks and will try to get my first job which will probably be minimum wage but i want this!

I don't see anything wrong with that build. Usually graphic cards come with a mini hdmi to hdmi cord. Might wanna double check that.

Hdmi and dvi are better quality than vga. And that only applies if you have a monitor with speakers and actually wanna use the speakers.

WHy are you guys giving him recommendations when you dont even know what games he plays? What if he plays minesweeper?

So i ask! What games do you play/plan to play?

MY MISTAKE! He did say. My bad my bad.

Alliance of Valiant Arms

My turd with a P4 and a PCI nvidia geforce 6200 256mb will play that game at 30-40 fps so all you need is a $75 or less graphics card is more than you need. Go with a cheaper card and you will be fine.
