GPU overheating?

Hello,

I've had a Radeon 6850 Graphics Card for 3 years now.

Recently I've noticed an increase in its temperature. I've seen it get as high as 88°C when playing CS GO.

I haven't made any changes lately. I tried cleaning my computer, moving wires to increase airflow, and adding a fan. Is this too hot? What should I do?

Do you see your games dropping in fps when the temps reach that high?
No nothing noticeable. I could keep an eye on them and see if they are changing.
Would a drop in frames be a sign of damage being done?
Is it safe for me to play at those temperatures?

88oC is pretty darn up there, expecially for something like CSGO. Did you actually dust out the card and the cooler on the card?

frame rate drops when you notice the temps going high is going to be due to thermal throttling. If you don't see it throttle, you should be fine for now.

I removed the video card and cleaned it out. Then I tried playing CS again and although it wasn't as hot, it still reached 75oC.

What is the temperature that the card should be running at?

Is there anything else that I can try?
