GPU problem

So my brother is giving his GPU to my to install in my sister's new computer, my old build. Here is the GPU:

I am using this MoBo:

I insert the GPU in the purple slot, the PCI Express slot, and the only one it can fit into. I turn on my computer, it starts up, the GPU fan is spinning, but it is not posting. No BIOS screen, nothing. I have plugged the 6 pin connector in it. Is it just not compatible with this card, is the slot dead, or what? Thanks.

And I'm using a Corsair CX430 power supply.

And the card has been confirmed as working.

It's probably becuase the PCI-E is running at X4 mode so its probably not enabling it to its max. No idea why it does that but i have my new HD5670 and it has the excact same problem as your card.

I'm upgrading my motherboard so that should fix it and i'm getting a newmotherboard.

Should still work in the pci ex x4 slot, just with reduced bandwidth, which will prob not be noticeable on this card anyway.

What was in the comp before was it an agp card?

Having it in an x4 slot wouldn't cause any issue with it posting.

Can you get a speaker for the motherboard? What is the beep code. That might help us get a better idea what is wrong.

Yes, a 4670 AGP card. I have also reset the CMOS so it shouldn't be a BIOS issue, unless there's something I have to have enabled.

I am going to a computer store today so I'll look for a speaker there.

After hard resetting twice seeing if it'll work, I plugged an old AGP card in to see any issues, and on the BIOS splash screen, it said it was not able to boot properly. It was at the bottom of the BIOS options and CPU, RAM, hard drive info, which I have never seen before.

Another question I'll answer is yes, the BIOS is the most up-to-date.

is there an option in the bios to choose what graphics card/slot to use, is there an option to use the pci e rather than agp?

Found the only option that changes the primary graphics port from 3 options: PCI, PCI express Gfx, or AGP. It was on PCI, so I changed it to PCI express Gfx, and still nothing. I'm going to say its a slot problem. The slot just doesn't work. Any other tips would be helpful.

Oh, also tried my Corsair TX650 and still nothing.

Those boards with a AGP and PCIe slot always have a PCIe VGA compatibility list. It doesnt list the 8800GT as being compatible. Weird is the list has the 8800GTS and 9800GT(which is really the same card as the 8800GT). But doesnt list the 8800GT.
