GPU Upgrade

Hi, I would like to upgrade my geforce 6800GT (AGP) to something like twin 8800 SLI setup, now i dont know that much about SLI and thought i would ask you guys.
Two things i would like to ask,
1. as far as i know all geforce 8 and 9 GPU's run on DX10, am i able to run them on DX9? (reason being is im not getting vista, i hate it like a lot of people)
2. is setting up a SLI system just a matter of slotting the cards in the PCI-E slots, putting the link PCB and power cables in and telling the BIOS the i have an SLI setup?

1. yes. they'll run on dx9
2. dunno i don't know anything about SLI

2. Yes you just put the cards in, pop the bridge on and attach the power connectors. But you dont have to do anything in the bios. After windows loads, go into the nvidia software and enable SLI. And they have to have the same GPU, like 2 8800GT or 2 8800GS or 2 9600GT.

^^ I think the mobo includes a SLi Bridge. Might not be a black one though.
