GPU Upgrade

a 5570 wont handle BF3 very well imo,I would look for at least a 5770 used from the bay.

Like mentioned what is your current setup and maximum budget. :)

Alright, I'm thinking of a $80-$150 budget, right now I have an Athlon 64 x2 and I'm using the motherboards onboard video (yeah yeah, don't laugh). Also, I have a 500w power supply.

500w isn't enough, we need at least the make, preferably the model too but that is just a luxury.

Yep, there are a lot of crappy "500w" PSUs around that can really only output 300w continuously, but have the magical power to output 500w for about 2 seconds during a full moon and then explode. :P

i like spynoodle's explanation, but the real one is that they put all the power on the +5v rail, which is almost unused, while the cpu, gpu, and motherboard and other main parts pull from the +12v rail, so they save money and you lose all yours in a huge fireworks show inside you tower

sry but that just sucks, i wouldn't trust it as much as my rosewill, which is one of the worst, knows as roadkill, soy you'd need a new one, luckily there is a great one on sale right now and is more than enough power, and costs less than most good quality ones with less power, here's a link, and leaves you enough to get a nice 6770, which isn't gunna be maxing anything, but will get high to medium on most recent games.

i'n not too sure on that, wait and see if someone else can answer or ask it in either the gpu or cpu sections

Bottleneck a 6770 running a Phenom II 720BE. No, it will be ok, plus the 720 is unlocked and usually can get around 3.7 overclock and with the right processor and board, might unlock to a quad. What motherboard are you using?
