Hey I compared some GPUs and was wondering if anybody had any advice or help:

of the ones you selected, the 2GB 6950 is the best.

Well yeah I know it is the best. But I'm trying to keep my build low cost. I wanted to know if it was worth it to get the 6950 2GB now, or to get the 6870 and crossfire it later?

Just comparing them, it has 2GB of memory and OpenGL 4.1. But it does require 2 6-pin power connectors. If price isn't an issue, go for that one. If it is, there's not much difference between that and the other 6950.

But then again, it has 4 eggs compared to 5 eggs for the other one. That just may be due to a lack of many reviews.

It's also easily overclocked into a 6970.

If you look at the specifications of those, they're pretty much identical. The 6950s are the top-of-the-line for AMD, so whichever one you get isn't gonna make that much difference.

Looks like more than enough. Honestly you probably dont even need that much unless your playing on a HUGE screen and using 3D...

Alright thanks. May main reason for having it is so I can not have to replace parts for awhile. I want it to still be good for most graphics intensive games like 2 or 3 years from now.

GPUs et outdated fast but a 6950 should last you quite a while. I'm hoping mine does. What games are you looking to play?

Um well I don't have any specific games yet, as I haven't done too much gaming research because I don't even have the money yet to actually build my pc. But I have talked with some RL friends that have and are building computers and they are playing or going to play Starcraft II, Guild Wars II, and maybe some others, but I haven't really looked into many.
