graphic card for rendering

greetings!

i have a question for people who know their stuff when it comes to PC configurations that are best for 3D modeling. i work in a small architectural firm and have recently taken up creating 3D rendered images, but the computer at the firm (which otherwise has no problem running AutoCad 3D), works surprisingly slow in 3D studio max. I couldn't find the source of the problem, but suspect that the graphic card isn't up to par. If it indeed is the graphic card, i will recommend my boss to buy a new one. Here is the computer configuration:

HP compaq dc7700 convertible
Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU
6600 @2.40GHz
1.58 GHz, 1,97GB RAM

Display adapter:
Intel (R) Q965/Q963 Express Chipset family

can anybody help me out here?

cheers

Yup, its the graphics card that is the problem, you dont have one !!

If your serious about CAD work then look at the quatro card from NVidia, they ae expensive tho
