Graphic Card Question

I have

-NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE GPU
-AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4400+
-958 MB RAM

need

CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Can I run it? I think I'd need a better video card then what I have, but don't I have things for backup RAM and whatnot? Isn't that just the space needed for the download? I know I should know this, but for the life of me I just can't pull it out of my rusted brain.

Also, if I do need a video card where would be a good place to buy it? How much? What would you suggest to buy?

Thanks,
Scott

P.S.: I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the 'Computer Games' section, so if it should be there moderators feel free to move this ^^;.

Could you run it? Probably. Could you run it WELL, no.

RAM requirements are usually negotiable with swap files and all, but performance will suffer greatly; especially load and random access times.

As for WHAT RAM is, I think you're getting RAM and hard drive mixed up. RAM is memory were data is stored to be accessed by the processor. Basically when you load a program, it's pulled from your hard drive and stored in RAM. The data is accessed/changed/whatever then stored back on the hard drive for permanent storage.

By the specs of your computer, you should have PCI-Express, and most of those tend to have expansion slots. I strongly suggest you pop the case open first to confirm you do have the slot :P It really couldn't hurt to get yourself some more RAM too...
