Graphics Card Compatibility

I know this probably a stupid question, but when building my first computer, i want to make sure i get it right. Graphics cards do not have the same compatibility issues AMD and Intel do with a Motherboard, right? I know you have to get a board for each processor, but are the graphics cards ambiguous and compatible with any mobo?
Thanks.

Nope - no compatability issue whatsoever.

Just be sure to get the right card for your slot type.

Ok, thanks. I knew about the slots, but i kept seeing Nvidia and ATI on some of the motherboards i was looking into. Now that i think back on it, they may have just been the integrated graphics.

The chipset on the board doesnt matter unless your going to run Crossfire or SLI with 2 or more cards. A single card from AMD/ATI or Nvidia is compatible with Intel/Nvidia/AMD/SIS or VIA chipset boards. As long as like said above you match the card to the slot. PCIe to PCIe or AGP to AGP slots. But most new boards have PCIe (99%) 1.0 or 2.0 slot
