Graphics Card Fan Problem

well its not that much of a problem but when im playing san andreas... with everything set to highest... every now and then the fan will go to 100% only for like 1/3 of a second...

does this quite often...
yet i dont think its overheating... and an 8800gt would surely handle the load

firstly, what program can i use to continuously monitor the temp so i can see it when i exit the game?

and what do you think might be causing it? power supply being dodgy? haha

I use ATiTool to monitor the temp of my graphics card, i have an 8600GT.

its mainly used for overclocking, but because my graphics card keeps overheating im not even thinking of OCing atm...

i dont bother overclocking mine... i can get it from 600mhz to 700 stable...
but the performance increase isnt noticable.. so i dont bother.

I recomend using Rivatuner, as you can monitor the temps and change the fan speed yourself

yeah i usually use rivatuner.. and i just checked it and i must have accidently change the fan mode to direct control... so it was on 30% all the time... maybe that was causing it to overheat and stuff up a little?

while we are on the topic.... is there anything wrong with having a zalman 9700 on 100% speed all the time?

Try setting the fan speed to like 50%...

Nope, No problem, I have my Tuniq on full all the time, it'll decrease the life, but it's not like you'd notice it!
