Graphics card for win7

I'm getting Windows 7 soon and am going to need a better video card. I just want a sensible upgrade, nothing too expensive or fancy. I was advised a GeForce 8400 but I noticed this only supports DirectX10 and I know that Win7 has features that need DirectX11.

Overall, would you guys suggests a GeForce 8400 video card for Win7?

Also, just quickly, would you suggest getting a 2GB RAM upgrade for Win7?

2gb upgrade from what? There is no card currently supporting Dx11 and the 8400 is quite old and wasn't that great starting out. Do you have a more specific budget we can use? What is your power supply? Do you have a PCI-E slot?
 
Well I really want to keep my budget under £100 and I'm not sure if i have a pci-express slot. How can I find out? And I definitley need to get an upgrade of 2GB because my current RAM is only 512MB and vista won't run smoothly with 512MB lol.

I'm only considering getting a GF 8400 because I don't want anything fancy, just the bare minimum that will support my vista and soon to be Win7.
