I recently downloaded a few games that require openGL to play them and the drivers that came with windows XP wont do that stuff. My problem is the actual card in my comp says its a ASUS 3800 32m somthing, its very old lol. The computer is saying its a nvidia riva tnt2 model 64, but when I download drivers from nvidia for it they wont work, and all the other tnt2 drivers I found work but the computer shuts off randomly and the power light stays on and I cant turn it back on unless I unplug the computer for like 10-15 seconds. Right now im back on the XP drivers and the comps working, I just cant play games and stuff. So why is my comp saying its a tnt2 when its a asus 3800? Am I missing somthing here? And why does my computer shut off but the power lights on and I have to unplug it. Any help would be appreciated!

ok, well i would say ythat your computer is not an opngl compatable card, or if it is then it doesn;t support the version required to play the games, if possible can i ask what games you are playing

Quake 3 and Star wars jedi acedmy mainly, They can play them fine and when I download the drivers that i (should) need my computer just shuts off.

get a new card... i had a tnt2 card that i put in my uncles computer recently (the computers right, its a tnt2 then.. asus doesnt design gpu's they just manufacture the cards)
anyhow i'd say you need a new card or drivers that work with this one. but if you can't seem to find drivers that'll work, you may want to consider investing in a new card.

my comp atm is 1.5 gig with 512mb of ram so do you think if i got a new video card (around the $160 range) i would be able to play some better games or would it not make a differance?
