Graphics Card Radeon 6790 not detecting

Hi All,

My motherboard, MSI 880G E-41 is not detecting my new graphics card Saphire HD 6790. After reading many posts I did all I could do to install the new graphics card but no use.

I uninstalled onboard video card, in bios for disabling I have set the "PRIMARY VIDEO ADAPTER: PCI-E" and then inserted the graphics card in PCIE slot. After plugging the VGA cable into video card, the monitor goes blank. Again when i plug into the onboard video card, the monitor displays and the onboard video gets detected. When I try to install the Radeon HD 6790 driver, it detects the my onboard card i.e. HD 4250 but not my new video card.

I think the BIOS setting for disabling onboard video is not available, or some other BIOS setting needs to be changed.

Any suggestions?

Does your bios for video settings have one called PEG? If so try that. Plus what power supply are you using?

Most likely you didn't plug in the 2-6pin pci express power connectors from the power supply. The card won't work without them plugged in.
