I know what you're looking for.. you want me to say a word, and for this word to be a single unit mesaurement by which to gauge a graphics card - well lets make one up. Flurble.

Some graphics cards have a lot of Flurble, and the more Flurble you have the better. Get as much Flurble as you can afford.

In case you can't tell, im talking a load of *Flurble*, because there is no single unit measurement by which to bench mark all graphics cards. I suppose you could look at frames per second as a good indicator but even that is not conclusive. Just like...

the dot size is not an indicator on which to assess a montor, and the mghz should not be used soley to asses a cpu - take amds lower clock speed thanks in part to a shorter pipeline, doesnt mean the AMD64 3800+ (which runs at 2.4ghz i think) is the same a the p4 2.4ghz.

I suppose it would be simpler if there was one value you could ascribe a component by which you could benchmark it against all other in that field. But then there would be no market.

If you want suggestions to a good card to buy, then post your budget and i'm sure someone will help, tweakers good on graphics maybe he will suggest something.
