I am considering buying a new computer... a dell studio
how important is it to buy a graphics card with the computer that is not integrated?
do people usually buy the graphics card?

No you don't need a graphics card for anything other then games. Have you thought about building your own computer you could save money and get something better.

For doing stock you don't need nothing special any new dual core CPU will handle that no problem.

What does that mean - you work with stocks and stuff?

Do you have a sophisticated trading platform - or are you simply an individual investor who's going to get some program that displays real time price movement - charting - and other technical analysis?

If you're an individual investor - I wouldn't think you'd need much in terms of high tech to do it. I'd pick your software first and check with them in case you have some concern - but I doubt you'd need much in terms of processing power - or graphics for that function.

it will do what you want, but, you get alot of crap in there that you don't need.

Lots of un-needed programs, aswell as the warranty.

That may sound strange, but if you build your own then consider this:

the momory will most probably have lifetime warranty
hard drive will have a few years warranty
power supply maybe 5 years or so
processor, 3 or 4 years

See what i mean, all alot more than 1

And also, you can probably get cheaper than that for quite a bit less.

If you don't know how, it is very simple and there are youtube videos of how to do it for example if you are stuck, confused or worried.

If you post a budget too we could help you to pick the best for the cheapest
