i just got a new nvidea geforce 8400 gs for old computer as the graphics card in that broke.
the one i bought was:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280561349666&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

i thought it was the same as the one that broke, but when it arrived i realised that it wasnt. Didnt worry about that, it's got over double the memory of my old one.

anyway to the point.
i just installed the new graphics card but when i start the computer i get a continuous beep for 3 seconds or so.

i plugged the old graphics card in (it still works but i cant run games) and that works fine.

anyone know what the problem is?

Odd... Continuous beeps usually are for RAM issues. System RAM issues, the difference in RAM on the GPU shouldn't make any difference what so ever.

Can you try the GPU in another computer? It almost sounds like a problem with the card.

i havnt got another complete computer that takes ddr2, i think i got scammed il try and get my money back. he probably removed the card when it broke
