i have an acer aspire rc900, recently there has been different coloured vertical lines across the screen, i think the card an ATI Radeon 9200 i believe may be on its last legs. while checking the connection i noticed there is an on board graphics connector. i am wondering if i can change to using the on board graphics as if the card is the cause of the strange vertical lines this should give me something better to look at for the time being. i tried simply plugging the monitor into the on board graphics connector but the screen stayed on stand by, tried changing it in the bios but couldn't see anything there. Any ideas?

your seeing artifacting on the card, which means its going bad, i believe there should be a way to change the graphics from whatever kind it is(pci, agp) to onboard, i havent worked with an acer bios though, wait for someone else to direct you
