Well a few weeks ago I got an Evga 260 which has worked great. I first used it at home on an old CRT monitor. I installed the software and everything worked fine. When I took my comp back to school, I had to reinstall the software again for some reason. The only thing that I could think of that could have required this was my wide screen monitor, which still doesn't make since, but thats all I attributed too. Anyways, I bring my comp back home for Thanksgiving break, and it appears that I have to reinstall the driver again.
I can only use 4 resolutions, and when I move windows the frame rate is terrible, it looks like ghosting. I can't play any games or anything, I assume the computer is not recognizing my card and is just using the integrated graphics? When I tried to reinstall the software/drivers this time, it says "The NVIDIA setup could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
I am not to sure what to do from here? I opened my tower and it seemed like everything was connected fine, nothing appeared to be damaged. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks =)
EDIT: I looked in the device manager and the VGA component is a yellow question mark. I also tried reinstalling drivers from the website, from the windows prompts and from the CD again, still no luck. I've searched the web and nothing seems to work hmm
