Graphics?!

Hi all I'm starting to move on in the gaming world, past the emulation of the PSX!

With only a NVIDIA GeForce 7050 [I think] already installed, I'm having to severly lower the resolution of games to be able to just run them, so I was wondering, what good graphics cards can I purchase to play the latest and greatest?

My budget would be around £70, or would anyone suggest just use an Xbox 360 for gaming instead?

Wow thanks for the replies =]

I don't really know what to look for in a graphics card if I went out and bought one to be honest so I don't know a good one from a bad one..

PALIT 512MB GeFORCE 9400GT SUPER PCI-E2.0 HDMI £49
ATI RADEON 4650 SUPER - PCI 2.0 £67

Which is better out of those two?

I'm looking fot something that can play the likes of CoD4, L4D, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Dead Space, Mercenaries 4, those sort of high spec games smoothly at a reasonably high resolution, and as of late events my budget is now around £100 inc. P+P

Cheers again

Dont get hte 9400GT its crap, the HD 4650 would be better.

Save up an extra £25 and get this mate, well worth the wait and extra cash.

that will play anything you throw at it at decent settings,i think you would be dissapointed with those cards you choose especialy the 9400GT.

btw what Power supply do you have? let the guys know here before you go buying any gfx card as your current PSU might not be able to handle such powerfull card.

9600GT for £78.50 + shipping ain't bad ;)

You're also gonna need a new power supply though

*edit* You can get a 9800 for around £110 in eBuyer.com

Somebody in here mentioned that the HD4850 is not a worthy upgrade from the 8800GT/9800GT so I would just get the 9800GT
