Great CPU stablility results!

Since I never did a full-scale stability test on my PC, I wanted to do something that would test my CPU stability while doing something productive. I figured I would do a super high quality 3D Render for my desktop wallpaper. It took about 20 minutes to complete and then I rendered it. The entire render was from 5:16 PM to about 8:45PM, a little over 3 hours. It was a success with no blue screen or any major errors. My CPU rose to 52C and never went higher. I finally know that my PC is pretty stable. Here is the result of the render...
 
Your Athlon 64 3200+ got to 52C :eek:

I would use SiSoftware Sandra and run their CPU burn-in tests.
 
hahahaha dude, 52C is actually pretty good for a 600mhz overclock... actually very good... lol
yea after that id say your proc is perfectly healthy :)
prime95 or sisoft sandra will make for 100% sure after like 48hrs of running it... but who needs to stress components that much? lol id say you're just fine...
nice o/c btw, i plan on getting that far after i get a more stable PSU (powmax = lose)

off topic:
id like to correct your sig though, 560mhz video memory = 1.12ghz not 1.2ghz... 1.2ghz would be 600mhz not 560mhz

Thanks, I actually have an explanation for that too:D I had previously Ocd it to 600mhz but ran into stability problems so I changed it and my sig but forgot to change the other one. oops

Also, I have run OCCT and Prime95 and my PC is stable with them but I wanted to do something that would not a simulation but actual work that I would be doing on my computer.
 
yea thats what i do, i don't bother with prime95 or anything because i would have to make 2 copies on my hard drive and run both to use up both cores... i just go by if my comp ever restarts or freezes by itself which it doesn't :)

wow, maybe i just had a really nice one. The temp never went above 33C when it was overclocked 700Mhz.

If you had a A64 3200 OCd 700Mhz and it never went above 33C, it MUST have been a good batch. I have lapped the HSF, CPU, I have an SI-120 w/ 120mm Panaflo, 3 120mm case fans, AS5...pretty much all I can to cool it down.

except water cooling and airconditioning

hmm i should mod a small refridgerator to hold a motherboard and some hard drives... that would be cool. :cool:

you're right though not a chance im willing to take... maybe ill just get some type of water cooling... it costs so much though! and i already spent enough on temp controlled fans and fan controller and heatsinks as it is haha... maybe i should anyways though, keep some case fans and such and maybe some other stuff, and buy a radiator and such... sell my heatsink or somethinnn

but, we shall see :)

haha if i put it in the freezer there would be no flow anymore and my comp would just boil the water thats in the cpu block lol... maybe JUST above freezing temps or something...

52 C isn't that great I have 2 120 mm case fans thermaltake big typhoon and a 600 mhz over clock and i never see anything above 42 C and thats with a dual core opteron.

Maybe mine came out of a bad batch of CPUs... oh well, im gonna get a job this summer and hopefully get an FX-60 after getting a Radeon X1900XTX the cooling I have now would cool the FX-60 down enough and I wouldn't need to OC it, though I might anyways..
 
in my opinion the best "top of the line" hardware isn't worth the money... probably more than a 100% increase in price and much less than that in speed... especially when you can buy something cheap that will o/c quite nicely. i mean, my 78GT probably runs faster than a 78GTX (with a GTX at stock speed)... but not by alot. thats like what at least $100-$150 dollars saved at the time.
and my processor running at 4600+ speeds.. at the time i saved $300 for the speed i got it to, not to mention im probably going to get it to a higher o/c once i finally find the means to get a new PSU
 
Actually, nevermind what I said, I am gonna wait until Windows Vista comes out and I will get a DX10 graphics card.
