Great Gaming on $950 Budget

If you wouldn't mind telling me what your thoughts are on how to inprove the build below or maybe know a more cost effective way to obtain the same performance I would appreciate it.

Build: All Prices are from newegg.

Case: HEC Blitz Black Steel Edition ($39.99) (I have this case and love it not buying anything else but this one.)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T ($169.99)
GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6970 ($339.99)

everything looks good, except for the Processor and PSU.

1. What are you doing to need 6 cores? you would be better off gaming wise to have a 955/965/970 quad core and a good cooler.

2. PSU, even CF doesnt need 1000 Watts. Get a good quality 650 if your running 1 card, or 850 if you are running CF.
 
Wait a few days to see about Bulldozer FX processors.
Change ps to XFX/Seasonic/Silverstone/Corsair/P C Power&Cooling/Antec. 1000w more than needed, 850-900 is enough for CF. See how many amps you'll need and go from there.
 
I have the same PSU in my build and have not encountred any problems with it, although it is still overkill for my build, why not?

Im gonna agree with the 6 core statement, what even uses that many cores? Save the money and get yourself a quad core.
 
You haven't encountered any problems with it, yet. But to have expensive, quality parts in a computer and then pair it with a low quality PSU is a bad idea.
 
I have noticed that alot of users have reviewed the Kingwin Modular 1kw PSU would that be a good choice, out of 174 reviews it has 4 eggs? Most are good reviews from what I have seen.

PSU reviews are tricky. Yes, its most likely that a PSU will work when you get it and it'll be fine, but after a year or so, and it fails, do those people come back and write a review? Probably not. We are all telling you, stick to XFX/Seasonic/Silverstone/Corsair/P C Power&Cooling/Antec brands. Don't risk your entire system on an average PSU. It could fail and take your whole system with it.

And 1000w is way too much for your system. Get a 650w if you're sticking to one card and around a 750w-850w for two cards.

Very nice build. Good PSU.

When you say you already have a windows license, is it from a different computer or a whole new license? Because most people just buy the OEM so you are restricted to only one machine using that copy of windows.
 
When I say that, I mean I have a Microsoft Technet Subscription and I have 5 licenses of each version of Windows NON OEM.
