i need to cool my cpu what is teh best heatsink of all time thanks
And what CPU do you have?i need to cool my cpu what is teh best heatsink of all time thanks
1. Well unless it's make starts with "Thermalright" then you dont.if its socket A (p3 chips or AMD XP/duron/sempron) then i have the perfect one

2. Pentium3 chips, believe it or not, dont use SocketA and neither do all Semprons ... or Durons for that matter

lol, i know that feeling. AND i lost all the controllers :O imagine trying to get to sleep with that on. well, i have the venus 12 fan and some crappy speeze hsHairy_Lee said:im impressed with my thermaltake venus 12.... it gets a bit loud when the fan is on full speed though
Read my post again, i was saying anything BUT a Thermalright cant really take the crown for best heatsinksocket A 370 for P3and i forgot about the semps and durons.... but whats wrong with thermalright? i have a Thermalright SI-97 with a 110cfm 92mm fan on it.... keeps my temps under 100*F
Because i know you know yer stuff i wont drag this into a huge HSF war ... yeah, im familiar with Dynatrons ... but two things:I'll put my Dynatron up against any Thermalright for a Socket A any day Just abre heatsink, no fan...i bet my temps are lower!!!
Yes but you need to lapp the heatsink down ... Thermaltakes are more about bling than they are about performance ... their Tower112 is nice but a XP90c or XP120 will destroy it.NO, NO, NO... Universal silent tower. optional dual fan setup, each fan pushing up to 52 cfm, depending on temp. its got heatpipes too. $46
And you will note the lack of mirror finish (or really any finish of any kind) on the base ... for the record i have one on my P4-3.0E and it works wonders -- but thats only because I couldnt be hassled to special-order a ThermalrightTrue, very true. Just take a look at it!
I would guess but not sure ... whats the model on that?mine looks more awesomer! and it doesnt look like some futuristic building.... mine looks like a hardcore cooler!
Well if you lapp the base perhaps....You should see it in real life. It's HUGE!! Gets rid of heat like water puts out fire.
Agreed its nice (definitely could use some lapping on the base, running one myself, ran that before i used the XP90c)im impressed with my thermaltake venus 12.... it gets a bit loud when the fan is on full speed though
The mix material ones fit a different purpose since AL has a larger heat capacity than Cu (yes Lorand/Yeti I know im probably using the wrong scientific term ... but the point is that Al will "take" three times more heat before becoming useless than Cu)All copper heatsinks are better then a copper based bottom and aluminum top, like the cheap ones seem to be.

1. I still think T-rights are superior
2. Without fan.... your temps are lower .... i might be inclined to argue the CPU temp might be lower but not the case temp (so hence you cant really say temps) .... with a fan you can evac the case of hot air faster
I think all posters should be reminded that this thread is about heatsinks -- not heatsinks+fans or anything about fans for that matter
