Green Tinted Monitor Problem

My parent's computer's monitor is displaying a green tint as if I adjusted the color through the monitor's menu, which I have not. When the monitor is unplugged from the tower the color on the message shown by the monitor is then normal. This makes me think that it is a hardware problem. Any ideas? It is a 6 year old Dell computer with a pentium processor. Thanks in advance for all of the help.

What OS, and try the monitor on another computer just to rule that out. Also, is it integrated GPU or dedicated card?

as mentioned try the monitor on a different computer

if the problem is on both pcs, check if you have another vga cable (video cable, im assuming you're using vga), try testing to see if swapping the cable helps.

It's the VGA, you need a new one. I had the same problem in the past.

Tried the Monitor thing already its either the hardware or the cable. I think its the cable as well. Thanks for the replies
